Backflow Assembly Deadline Extended

Effective July 9, 2007, a deadline date was set for all potable water connections in the Town of Longboat Key to have backflow assemblies. That date was June 30, 2008. After further consideration the Town Commission extended that deadline to December 31, 2008 by adopting Ordinance 2007-50. The ordinance was adopted January 7, 2008 in an effort to provide all potable water customers adequate time to comply with the requirements. Additionally, the concrete pad requirement is now optional. Please check with your installation provider for your specific needs.

If customers have any questions about the program requirements or the backflow assembly they can contact the Public Works Department at 316-1988. Questions concerning permitting should be directed to the Planning Zoning & Building Department at 316-1966.
