Public Notices and You

Public Notices and Legal Ads contain activities and events that impact citizens' lives because of governmental actions or requirements.

They include such important actions as government hearings and public meetings, zoning, land use changes; election notices, municipal budget hearings and tax and special assessment information, to name a few.  All these actions affect you and your community.

The Town of Longboat Key publishes notices about new ordinances, ordinance amendments, advisory board vacancies, and other issues the Town Commission is considering, in the local newspapers, and will continue to do so as required by Florida law.

Why make these notices also available on the the Internet?  The internet has become an excellent tool to find information quickly.  And as we have many seasonal residents, the internet notices will be readily available to them when they are not actually enjoying their residence on Longboat Key.  This will provide the opportunity to stay connected with the community during their absence by providing adequate time to contact their elected officials to offer any comments on matters to be considered.
