OIL DRILLING INFORMATION AND SURVEY OF YOUR OPINION

TO: Town of Longboat Key Residents

There is discussion going on at the Federal, State and local level regarding the possibility of drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. If it is approved by the State the drilling could occur between 3 - 9 miles off the West coast.

One of the areas of interest is the "Tampa-Sarasota Arch" which includes portions of Longboat Key as shown on the attached map.

This issue is very important to the Town of Longboat Key. The Town Commission is seeking your comments. Click here to send an e-mail to the Longboat Key Town Commission stating your position.
