Longboat Key residents are invited to participate in a free Community Cleanup Event on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This event provides a convenient opportunity to safely dispose of household hazardous waste, electronic waste, documents for shredding, and bulk household items.

Accepted Items for Safe Disposal

• Household Hazardous Waste

  • Automotive fluids

  • Paint

  • Pool chemicals

  • Propane tanks

  Electronic Waste

  • Cell phones

  • Computers

  • Printers

  Document Shredding

  • Secure on-site shredding services will be available

  • Limit: 5 boxes per household

Bulk Item Guidelines

RESIDENTIAL HOMES: Waste Management will collect bulk items (including appliances, furniture, and large household items) from residential homes on Saturday, March 7. All bulk items must be placed at the curb by  by 6:00 a.m. on the 7th. (Appliances containing freon must have the freon removed by a certified technician and a confirmation sticker on the item).

MULTIFAMILY RESIDENTS (condos, etc.): Waste Management will offer a drop-off area for bulk items at Town Hall for multifamily residents during the cleanup event. If desired, multifamily properties may work with WM to schedule roll off containers for bulk item collection at your property on alternative days.
