Planning and Zoning Virtual Meeting Information

We are working hard to keep our Town running, and a top priority during the COVID-19 pandemic is to help maintain the health of our residents, employees, and visitors. Another top priority is being able to maintain public participation in our Town meetings. Following CDC guidelines, we are not allowing public access into the Commission Chamber and practicing social distancing within our Meetings.  Though there are restrictions when it comes to public gatherings, we are dedicated to making sure those who would like to make their voice heard are able to.

We are providing the ability to submit written comments to be read during the Planning and Zoning Board Meeting. To provide written comments, email Donna Chipman at dchipman@longboatkey.org, send regular mail to 501 Bay Isles Road, Longboat Key, FL, 34228, or submit the online form below during the time-frame it is available. Any information/written comments/ evidence that you want to present and wish to be considered by the Planning and Zoning Board during the hearing must be submitted no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) on the Monday prior to the meeting to be distributed to the Planning and Zoning Board, the parties, and be included in the official hearing record.

Request To Speak Instructions

Anyone desiring to speak during the virtual meeting must complete a request-to-speak form by 12:00 p.m. Monday prior to the meeting. The form will be available beginning at noon Friday prior to every scheduled Meeting. You may also contact Donna Chipman (see contact information above) as a second option to request-to-speak. Except for the public hearing agenda item, all public comments will occur at the beginning of the meeting for both agenda and non-agenda items. We ask for anyone wanting to speak to indicate the specific agenda item number on their request-to-speak form.

Instructions to attend the virtual meeting are below. If you request-to-speak at the meeting, please make sure to use the same name and/or telephone number in the Zoom meeting that you entered on our form. It is the only way to identify you during the meeting.

Instructions for Attending the Town Meeting 

  • PREFERRED METHOD: Watch the live stream on our website here.
  • Listen to the meeting on the phone: Anyone can listen on the phone by dialing 1-312-626-6799. When the meeting ID is requested, enter 81742304132 and then press the # key.
  • Watch the meeting and participate during the public comment and/or public hearing using a conferencing service called Zoom. Instructions to participate are above.
    • Zoom instructions: Anyone wanting to virtually attend and watch the meeting using Zoom can use the link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81742304132
    • The meeting ID is 81742304132 if you enter it in separately.

If using a tablet or smartphone, you will need to download the free Zoom app from your device’s app store. Computers will need to download and install the Zoom program.
