Can I arrange to have my utility payment automatically deducted from my bank account?

Yes. The Town of Longboat Key will automatically transfer your payment from your checking account. It couldn’t be easier or more convenient. Visit the Utility Billing page for information. If you have any questions, please call us at 941-316-8700.
Can I get a credit on my water/sewer when I fill my pool?

Credit is given by the Town for sewer charges, when filling a swimming pool, once every three years. Contact the Finance Department, 316-8700 for details.
Can I pay my property taxes on Longboat Key?
No, the property taxes are generated from the county in which your property resides. For questions regarding property taxes you can contact the following tax collectors:

How can I change the address where my bills are sent?

You can fill out a change of address form at the post office so that the bill will be forwarded, or you can have the address changed by the Finance Department by calling, faxing, mailing or dropping us a note in the drop box.
How do I establish or discontinue service when I purchase or sell a home?

Contact the Finance Department at 941-316-1999 ext. 1416 at least 3 days prior to the closing. Be sure to have the service address and account number (if you know it) handy when you call.

The Finance Department is responsible for administering the financial affairs of the Town and to safeguard, and accurately account, for Town assets.

This department is responsible for preparing the annual Town Budget and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. This department bills and collects funds due to the Town as well as processing payment of payroll and other expenses owed by the Town. Other duties include completing special financial projects, such as bond issuance, ensure compliance with municipal finance and taxation regulations defined by Florida Statutes and provide timely budgetary and financial data to management, Town Commission and Longboat Key citizens.

Additional duties handled by this department are:

Utility Billing: New service, change of service and billing related questions.
Emergency Medical Services Billing: Oversight of 3rd Party Claim Billing for Medicare and insurance companies.
