As of 5:00 P.M., March 17, 2020, the Town of Longboat Key is temporarily limiting certain building permit inspections in certain interior confined spaces*. This precaution is anticipated to be in effect until rescinded and is subject to modification based on the latest information from the CDC, the State, and local actions.
Please note: All building permits will continue to be processed as usual and urgent repairs will be allowed to be installed, and utilized, subject to subsequent inspection by Town inspectors, when deemed safe. If necessary, permits will be extended at no cost.
* The following inspections within interior confined spaces are generally suspended:

Inspections will continue in open air conditions:

This precaution is made to secure the health, wealth, and safety of the Town of Longboat Key residents and Town employees.
The Florida Department of Health reminds everyone that the elderly and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems, and diabetes are more likely to develop serious illness. Please remember to wash your hands with soap and water, cover your coughs and sneezes with your arm, NOT YOUR HANDS. If you are sick, stay at home and avoid crowds.
