The Town has transitioned to a new online permitting system (called Accela) beginning at 8:00 am on April 22, 2025. The BS&A online portal for applying for permits online will close at 5:00 pm on April 16, 2025, in order to facilitate the transition. 

As of 8:00 am on April 22, 2025, all permits will need to be submitted through the Accela permitting system at http://aca-prod.accela.com/LONGBOAT. 

• For Contractor Registration, please click here to view instructions on how to register with the Town.  Please note, if you were previously registered with the Town of Longboat Key, you will need to re-register in the new Accela system. You must register and create a user account on the Accela Citizen Access Portal to apply for permits. Unregistered users can still search and view limited information.

Contractors (License Holders) Applying for Permits:

• The License Holder must create an Accela Citizen Access Portal account using their own information including their own email address.
• After the Accela Citizen Access Portal registration and account is created, submit a Contractor Registration application for approval.
• Once approved, you may apply for permits.

Also, all permits filed on or before April 16, 2025, will continue to be processed in the BS&A permitting system.  Access to the online BS&A permitting system will be limited to record searches and viewing access only.  If you wish to view your record, please click here to be directed to the online search function.  Under the 'Public Records Search' services, you will need to click on 'Building Department Search'.  At the top of the screen, click the down arrow next to the word 'By' and choose your search option (Address, Name, Parcel Number, or Building Department Record Number).  If you have your permit number, choose the 'Building Department Record Number' and enter the permit number in the search box and hit 'Search'.

For applicants with active permits (filed on or before April 16, 2025): The submission of additional information (including change of plans or response to review comments), will require you to submit your information via email as Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) documents.  Please send your email requests to all of the following 3 individuals: mcordasco@longboatkey.org, ydelcid@longboatkey.org and dcalella@longboatkey.org.
