Town-Wide General Municipal Election
March 17, 2020

The Longboat Key General Election is being held in conjunction with the Presidential Primary election on March 17, 2020. In addition to the Presidential Primary election, Longboat Key registered voters will have a bond referendum question to consider for the Gulfside and Bayside Districts.

ALL LONGBOAT KEY REGISTERED VOTERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE ON THE REFERENDUM QUESTION REGARDLESS OF PARTY AFFILIATION.

Gulfside District

The ballot for voting in the Gulfside District voters shall be in substantially the following form:

Gulfside District Beach Renourishment Bond Referendum
Shall Town be authorized to issue general obligation bonds/notes, in one or more series, not exceeding $34,500,000.00, bearing interest not exceeding maximum legal rates, maturing not later than 8 years from issuance, payable from the Town's ad valorem tax revenues and full faith, credit and unlimited ad valorem taxing power within the Gulfside District established by Code Section 92.42, as amended, to finance beach restoration, renourishment and maintenance capital projects on Longboat Key?

Bayside District

The ballot for voting in the Bayside District voters shall be in substantially the following form:

Bayside District Beach Renourishment Bond Referendum
Shall Town impose ad valorem taxes in Bayside District, established by Code Section 92.62, as amended, at annual millage rate of 20% of combined millage rate of Gulfside and Bayside Districts, to pay debt service or general obligation bonds/notes, in one or more series, not exceeding $34,500,000.00, bearing interest not exceeding maximum legal rates, maturing not later than 8 years from issuance to finance beach restoration, renourishment and maintenance capital projects on Longboat Key?

Early Voting

THERE WILL BE NO EARLY VOTING ON LONGBOAT KEY.

Early voting sites for both Manatee and Sarasota Counties are listed below with the closest location listed first. Early voting begins on Saturday, March 7, 2020, and ends on Saturday, March 14, 2020. Please note each County establishes their own schedule and hours of operation.
