Town Commission Virtual Meeting Information

Our Town Commission is working hard to keep our Town running, and a top priority during the COVID-19 pandemic is to help maintain the health of our residents, employees, and visitors. Another top priority is being able to maintain public participation in our Town meetings. Following CDC guidelines, we are not allowing public access into the Commission Chamber and practicing social distancing with the Town Commissioners and staff. Though there are restrictions when it comes to public gatherings, we are dedicated to making sure those who would like to make their voice heard are able to.

We are providing the ability to submit written comments to be read during the Commission Meeting. To provide written comments, email Town Clerk Trish Shinkle at, send regular mail to 501 Bay Isles Road, Longboat Key, FL, 34228, or submit the online form below. 

Request To Speak Instructions

Anyone wanting to speak during the virtual meeting must complete a request-to-speak form by 10 a.m. Monday. The form is available starting at noon Friday before every scheduled Commission Meeting. You may also contact the Town Clerk above as a second option to request-to-speak. Except for the public hearing agenda item, all public comments will happen at the start of meeting for both agenda and non-agenda items. The Town Manager asks for anyone wanting to speak to indicate which specific agenda item number on their request-to-speak form.

Instructions to attend the virtual meeting are below. If you request-to-speak at the meeting, please make sure to use the same name and/or telephone number in the Zoom meeting that you entered on our form. It is the only way to identify you during the meeting.

Instructions for Attending the Town Commission Meeting 

  • Watch the live stream on our website here (preferred method).
  • Listen to the meeting on the phone: Anyone can listen on the phone by dialing 1-646-558-8656. When the meeting ID is requested, enter 840 6850 8980 and then press the # key.
  • Watch the meeting and participate during the public comment and/or public hearing using a conferencing service called Zoom. Instructions to participate are above.
    • Zoom instructions: Anyone wanting to virtually attend and watch Monday’s meeting using Zoom can use the link
    • The meeting ID is 840 6850 8980 if you enter it in separately.

If using a tablet or smartphone, you will need to download the free Zoom app from your device’s app store. Computers will need to download and install the Zoom program.
